The Trudeau Liberals Are Desperate, And That Makes Them Dangerous

The Trudeau Liberals are now a desperate party.
And while that’s a sign of how much they’re struggling to deal with the mounting scandals and growing anger felt by millions of Canadians, it’s also a sign that this election is going to get mired further and further into the gutter.
One thing that makes the Liberals so dangerous, and often so politically effective, is that they are willing to say and do literally anything to hold onto power.
If someone told you a month ago that Liberals would be defending someone who wore blackface at least three times, you would have dismissed it out of hand.
It would have seemed impossible.
It would have seemed insane.
Yet here we are.
Blackface is now just a ‘mistake,’ and ‘not really a big deal,’ when Justin Trudeau does it.
After four years in office, a time in which they rarely discussed gun crime and in fact weakened laws that prevent gang crime (the true source of gun violence), the Liberals all of the sudden pretended that we are all living in the United States, using the same rhetoric of the US gun control movement, despite the fact that the laws are entirely different here.
They released an ad that is brutally manipulative, and demonizes law-abiding Canadian gun owners, while conveniently leaving out any mention of gangs.
They used the police to block journalist Andrew Lawton from Liberal events, even blocking him from an event that was supposedly open to the public.
These are the acts of a desperate political party that can see power slipping away.
But, those of us who want the Liberals to be defeated must not make the mistake of assuming that their desperation equals their defeat.
Gerald Butts is many things, but there is no denying that he is a ruthless and talented political tactician.
Justin Trudeau may be manipulative and dishonest at a level we’ve never seen before in a PM, but he also maintains a core base of supporters that have stuck with him through everything, including the blackface debacle, and he continues to show the ability to get media attention at a whim.
Trudeau and Butts must not be underestimated.
In their desperation they will attack anyone and everyone, demonize millions of Canadians, make up outrageous lies, dig up dirt, throw people under the bus, and say and do literally anything to hold onto power.
