In all of my decades on the Canadian political scene, I’ve never witnessed such dirty, under-handed tactics to coronate a party leader.
And not just a party leader, but an interim Prime Minister.
Allegedly orchestrated by the PMO, Katie Telford, and disgraced Trudeau number-two Gerald Butts, virtually all cabinet ministers, back-bench caucus attack dogs, and multiple members of Trudeau’s infamous groomsmen photo have been whipped into pledging absolute fealty to Mark Carney in just a matter of weeks.
Far from a roaring success as both a Governor of the Bank of Canada and Governor of the Bank of England, former British Prime Minister Liz Truss has even felt inclined to issue a recent stern warning as to the quality of Carney’s work, and his conflicted, ‘Net-Zero,’ de-growth agenda.
"I strongly recommend not backing Mark Carney for his policies on net zero. It was disastrous for Britain. It would be disastrous for Canada," said Truss.
It’s no wonder, then, that he’s garnered support from outgoing Housing Minister Sean Fraser, and current Immigration Minister Marc Miller, who have overseen (and executed) generational crises on both files.
It’s no wonder, then, that he also has the support of those in “Hamas Caucus,” or the support of Canada’s disgrace for a Foreign Affair Minister Melanie Joly.
And it’s no wonder he was hand-picked by Justin Trudeau and his conniving, anti-Canadian inner circle.
Disaster has always been their thing.
Unlike Carney, who believes he can easily parachute into extended Davos-Liberal rule without an election — and who has no plans to share in the pain he wishes to inflict on the middle class and our great Canadian energy producers — we live in the real world; and we suffer real consequences when politicians don’t have Canada’s best interests at heart.
Like many readers of the Western Standard, I am proud to have a large family of my own, but I worry greatly about the Canada that’s being taken from them by divisive, destructive, anti-energy politicians, who prioritize vanity indulgences and the needs of “have not” economies and the bloated public sector, over the need to do right by Western Canada, and the hard workers who are the very backbone of our nation.
I am truly blessed to have three great kids and five very special grandchildren, who deserve a future that is affordable and safe, where they can be healthy, prosperous, and proud to live in the best country in the world.
It is very hard to utter those words now. We have been made to abandon our senses, and Canada has been hijacked by progressive nonsense, anti-civilizational anti-oil and gas efforts that have failed the working and middle classes the world over, and under a brutally incompetent government in the form of Trudeau and his Liberals, we are now all but a laughingstock around the globe.
They broke our immigration system. Canada has become a hotbed for terror, low-skill migrant males who are taking the jobs of our youth and our celebrated blue-collar workers, and we’ve even become a major hub for fentanyl distribution.
They decimated our once-proud Canadian Armed Forces, and we are a complete and utter free-loader when it comes to our NATO commitments.
They’ve alienated our allies, turning them down and claiming there is “no business case” when they beg for our natural resources. We’ve destroyed our ability to take our products to market, cancelling pipelines, gateways, and terminals that have left us especially vulnerable to present tariff threats from our American allies.
Our children and grandchildren deserve better. Our country deserves better. Another stuck-up elitist with misguided climate indulgences from five years ago, which have failed across the globe, offers no solution to our Liberal-made problems; that’s more of the same — and worse.
Carney thinks he doesn’t have to earn the highest job in the land. He thinks he can avoid the ten years in the wilderness Canadians are prepared to give the Liberals right back for all that they’ve done to destroy this country.
We say “No.”
Given the particular threat he represents to Western prosperity, anything more than a Kim Campbell-like reign from this final boss of Liberal Davos elites could spell the end of the Canadian union as we know it.
Don’t lose faith, we’ll fire the Liberals once and for all, and tear down Trudeau’s legacy; but if you share my alarm, your support is most welcome.
We’re so close to getting our Canada back. Now is the time to fight like never before.
