Coleman: David Eby Is On The Ropes

This is the week when we hope we get real change in British Columbia, when the inept and increasingly desperate-looking Premier Eby is shown the door. In thinking he would take advantage of an at-the-time leaderless provincial Conservative Party, his worst nightmare is about to come to fruition.

Campaigns do matter, and the Conservative campaign for the most part has stayed consistently on message with their focus on the economy and common sense issues like restoring our natural resource sector, ensuring safer streets, and protecting private property rights.

Their focused campaign has laid bare the bumbling and incoherent Eby campaign. Eby thought he could just run against President Trump and fearmonger B.C. voters into following along. He somehow forgot how badly he has run the province, but British Columbians are showing that they have had enough of the bad policies, growing debt, job losses, and zero plan to make things any better.

On the weekend in B.C., the municipal elections were held and a fair number of incumbent Mayors lost their seats, which is undoubtedly a bad omen for Eby. One of the funniest and brightest spots in the provincial election was in Kelowna, where Brady Rogers—who is a businessman and has never been interested in politics—threw his hat in the ring and was elected as councillor.

His campaign slogans of "Doesn't know what he is doing," "Doesn't like politics," and then "Fine, I'll do it" were tongue-in-cheek, but no doubt this resonated with voters. People are tired of phony and incompetent politicians who have had the job for too long and accomplished very little. Premier Eby is the poster boy for this, and that is why he is in such trouble heading into the last week of the campaign.

A conservative provincial government in British Columbia would be fantastic news for hard-working folks in such a great province who have suffered so much from years of NDP mismanagement. It would also be a welcome breath of fresh air for all of Canada.

We need to break the far-left's grip on the West Coast, but we can't do it without you. Help us secure a better future for B.C. and restore the frontier mindset of opportunity.

Give generously to the Better B.C. campaign today!

Sincerely,

Peter Coleman
