Reaction to the Speech from the Throne

The National Citizens Coalition has been campaigning hard for fiscal sense in this year’s budget, and we are being heard. As yesterday’s Speech from the Throne approached, citizens eagerly awaited to see what direction the country would be heading this year. Over the past several years, annual government spending has increased at an unsustainable pace, which has made this the most important budget in a decade.

Understandably, this budget season has captured the attention of many more Canadians than usual – and they are looking for a greater commitment from their elected officials.

Guess what? Our 5-0-1 Campaign for better government is a success – the federal government has indicated that it will adopt our proposals in this budget. Fiscal prudence is back on the menu, and Canadians are hungry for it. We have much more to do, but this is a good start from the federal government.

The National Citizens Coalition, recognized as Canada’s leading voice on these issues, was today featured in the National Post. Please click here to read the article!

As the federal government works to return to responsible levels of spending, Canadians must demonstrate their commitment to this goal. Please Click here to support the 5-0-1 Campaign and keep this momentum rolling!

Thank you for your support in these important times.

What are your thoughts as we await the budget later today?

Gillespie, Stephen says:

My thoughts on pre-budget are to congratulate NCC and all its contributors making their thoughts known through their comments. This is Democracy as it should be. Stephen Gillespie.

Yes congrats to NCC on it’s campaign. Keep up your good work. Just listening to the TV coverage of the budget reactions of the NDP and the public (snivel) servents union. Remember when they cry the loudest then we know we’re on the right track.
