Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I just wanted to drop a quick note to everyone to wish you all the best of the holiday season. This fall has been a political roller coaster and it is not likely to change in the New Year. The agenda has been dominated by bailouts, senate appointments and far too much political posturing.

Here at the National Citizens Coalition, our members are a great coalition of people who believe in Canada and want strong government that respects their taxpayer dollars, and protects free speech. The NCC and our members stand as a great contrast to the opposition parties who want to hand veto power to the separatist Bloc Quebecois.

For the thousands of you who signed our petition in our Stand up for Democracy campaign and donated money to help spread the message- many thanks. You made a difference and should be proud of all your hard work. However, the battle has only begun and you can be sure we will be very vigilant in the New Year to ensure that Canada faces the challenges ahead with a clear sense of purpose that is not blinded by partisan nonsense.  Now is not the time to get into dialogue over government waste and reckless stimulus programs – that discussion will heat up in the New Year.

Best wishes to you and your family for a happy and healthy holiday season and all the best for 2009. Many thanks to all of you for reading the blogs and taking the time to post your comments- it is greatly appreciated.

Barry Jackson says:

Merry Christmas to all. When someone wishes me Happy Holidays, I often reply, Thank you, and same to you, but please feel free to wish me Merry Christmas as I am a Christian and it is Christmas after all. For decades the secular-progressives have been making war on our Judeo-Christian heritage. What I’m doing is a small measure, but it’s high time we fought back. If we keep our wits about us and don’t give in to the urge to follow the panicked herd, 2009 will be a good year. Thank God for the NCC! It is truly a rallying point for people of good will.

Thank you for saying MERRY CHRISTMAS. Most people now a days are scared to say those words…. I for one am deeply offended when someone says Happy Holidays to me…. and I let them know it….Thanks for all the work that you guys do there at the National Citizens Coalition. Those of us out here who would like to have a voice rely on organizations like yours. We need to get back common sense. People seem to have lost that along the way and along with that will go our Country if we are not careful. My Husband and I would like to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY AND PRODUCTIVE NEW YEAR!

Sincerely,
David and Margaret Phillips

“MERRY CHRISTMAS ‘ to all at NCC and across Canada. 2009 may be a tough one, but if we can hold on to our Canadian Courage, and a lot of Common Sense we may just make it…

Thank you for the opportunity NCC. You are an excellent organization. As I’ve been shovelling like so many good neighbours who are in great spirits these trying days. I don’t know about all of them but I’m getting tired. So for now I’ll just say to all members of the NCC May you have a very blessed Christmas with a real true meaning of just what Christmas is all about. Being one of you I’m happy to be and now I’m feeling our togetherness strength. Please stay the course with many thanks. Sincerely Merry Christmas, Stephen Gillespie.

Bob Sleeth says:

Continue the good work in 2009. We need a strong organization to bring issues to the attention of all Canadians. Hopefully Stephen Harper, Michael Ignatieff, Jack Layton, Gilles Duceppe et al pay attention to what Canadians expect of government and our elected representatives. Certainly this last year has not been one that we can be proud of the behaviour of our elected representatives. Canadians deserve better. Do you think they got the message in these last few weeks ? Perhaps a time to reflect over these next few weeks will bring them to their senses. When they decide to put Canadians ahead of “power” we’ll get a government that starts to deal with the “real” priorities that all Canadians now face.
