Stand Up For Free Speech

Twenty-five days into our federal election and we have still heard nothing of substance.  The media, our political leaders and party insiders have all wasted plenty of hot air and money to say absolutely nothing!

Enough is enough!

The erosion of free speech in this country should be at the top of the national agenda.  Yet we have heard nothing.

Canada’s various Human Rights Commissions are stifling our freedoms at a cost of $68 million a year.  Instead of hearing cases of true discrimination, these kangaroo courts have resulted in a state of political correctness gone mad.

The NCC will be paying close attention to the National Debates to see where each of our political parties stand on the protection of free speech.

It is time to bring an end to our Human Rights Commissions.  I encourage each of you to contact your local candidates and ask them what they intend to do to Stop the Free Speech Police?

Please report back to us so that we can make all Canadians aware of what their local candidates are doing, or not doing, to protect this most important freedom.

L. G. says:

This is an excellent topic for the debate - where do these leaders stand on the idiotic claims supported by Human Right Commissions. Personally I have had enough of them, Why are they so ‘protected’ beats me.

Arnie says:

In 1997, I worked in Saudi Arabia for three months. Since I was temporary, I didn’t qualify for quarters in a compound and was put up in local hotels.
Saudi is a religious dictatorship and police are everywhere to enforce Wahhabi Moslem law. All business including the corner juice vendor must close on the call to prayers which occurs five times a day. Foreigners like myself must stop all activities.

Police are not threatening because they are visible. Most threatening are the invisible religious police who blend in with the populace and no foreigner must dare look at a woman even though she is completely clad in a burka.

When I returned to Canada, I realized nothing was different. We are controlled by the political correctness police, the ban free speech police and the most recent innovation by the loonie left, the global warming police who would ban all independent thought on this subject..

Welcome to Saudi

Arnie

Ron Lutz says:

Isn’t it strange–all ‘these’ people are so anxious to get to Canada, where they can get on welfare almost immediatly, then start ‘demanding’ THEIR humun rights-wether it be free speach-or any other ‘rights’! What happened to a CANADIANs rights? We got Peirre to thank for that! Ron

Barry Jackson says:

Too bad so few Canadians possess the courage and the insight to point out the obvious that Arnie so succinctly describes. From language inspectors to thought police to global warming storm troopers, Canada is imprisoning itself in a straitjacket of political correctness.

Vern Thibedeau says:

I was ‘investigated’ by the Human Right ‘investigators’ while I worked for Corrections Canada. It dragged on for several years. These ‘investigators believe their job is to prove the complaint; not to find the truth!

It is absolutely scarey how much power they have. No one realizes it until they become involved with them and I don’t wish that on anyone.

What hurts is it is my tax dollars paying them. That is wrong!

Sam Side says:

PLEASE KEEP GOING AFTER IT. IT IS A TOUGH NUT TO CRACK.
THE POWERFUL MEDIA (OWNERSHIP) AND LOBBISTS ENCOURAGED IT AND WANT IT LEFT AS IS.

Dot Fuhrman says:

We have no freedom of speech when it comes to dicussing Official Bilingualism , its failure and cost over the past 30 years adding up into the trillions is never discussed.
The French are aleady in control and have silenced anyone from even talking about the job loss to the English speaking people, or having to dual track our already sick Health System or insisting a job must be bilingual or do not apply. What kind of country is this?
Many of us have asked the candidates to discuss it at the open debate but we know ahead of time it will never happen. “Your Turn” have asked us for questions but ours will be ignored. There are shades here of Germany doing the 30’s. Dot Davies- Fuhrman

V. Whitman says:

Several parties enquire about the cost of the Afgahastan war but no one seems interested in the amount of taxpayers dollars that has been wasted on Official Bilingualism. Canadians have never had a vote on this subject and its time to dump it and save BILLIONS.

Dave S. says:

Not sure, but I somehow suspect that if the Conservatives manage to get a majority this election, our festering problem of Human Rights Commissions trampling on fundamental rights will be suitably addressed. How could they do otherwise, with Ezra Levant in the wings?

Sharon says:

This is the single most important issue that needs to be addressed in this election and yet our incumbents and wanna-bes have been utterly silent about it. Harper has completely silenced his people and the Liberals know their liberal position on this is not shared by the majority of Canadians. To add to our impotence we support a multi-million dollar public broadcaster (the CBC) that has top billing on the Liberal campaign team so they spread nothing but Liberal propaganda. Not one question by their interviewers ever about this issue. Ridding ourselves of these unconstitutional, undemocratic and subversive Human Rights Commissions must be forced to the front of the debate. Everyone of us need to do whatever it is we can to make this happen.

Mel Garden says:

“The BCHR commission has demonstrated so many non-democratic rulings that it cannot be tolerated in its present role. It will be given a “grand jury” role of recommendations, and prosecution will be returned to the BC court system.”

Jim Allan says:

2000% correct!
And along with the loss of freedom of speech, are the loss of democracy (Canada now controlled by the 17% bilinguals, 50% of whom come from Quebec), and loss of justice (unelected Supreme Court judges, since Trudeau now supreme over Parliament)! Ho! Hum!
