It was amusing to see the Liberals back track on their Green Shift campaign last week.  When the media questioned Stephane Dion on the Green Shift policy, he responded by stating he never claimed it was the major plank of his policy platform, and in fact it was the media who said it was.

Incredible!  From everything the Liberals have said in the past few months, the Green Shift was supposed to be the nirvana policy that would bring them back to power. 

We hope that the Liberals will come to their sense on this issue, but I doubt that will happen.  Trying to downplay the Green Shift was crass politics on Dion’s part.  If you cannot explain your policy in 30 seconds to the average voter, than there is no way it is going to fly.
