With the disturbing economic news coming from south of the boarder - the collapse of another investment bank and the merger or another financial institution with the Bank of America - the state of the Canadian economy has become front and centre on the campaign trail.
What this country needs now is a federal government that is going to tighten up its spending and keep taxes low. Luckily, here in Canada we do not allow the ridiculous mortgage schemes that have lead to the collapse of the U.S. market.
The opposition parties have all been quick to point the finger at the Conservatives for Canada’s economic woes, and all have willingly played the fear card with our economy. What none have promised, is an end to reckless spending programs and a tightening of the belt in Ottawa.
I would like to hear your comments on the economy, and what you would do to help guide the country through these tough economic times.Â
