Time to Move On

We received several media calls with respect to Gerry Nicholl’s departure from the National Citizens Coalition yesterday. We said that we wish Gerry well and we thanked him for all he has done while he was at the NCC. We wish him well in whatever  path his journey takes him.

The National Citizens Coalition is much bigger than any one individual and will continue to fight the good fight that we have fought for the past 40 years. We are a member driven, issue based organization that fights for free speech, less government and government that treats your hard earned tax dollars with respect. We do not believe that big government and big unions have all the answers and will continue to fight the good fight for all Canadians who want their voices heard.

All of the media interviews yesterday asked if there was any political pressure on us as we had recently been critical of the spending that was made in the last federal budget. We reminded the media that we take our cue from our members and not the PMO. We deal with issues that are important to our members and over the past forty years have challenged( and will continue to challenge) all political stripes of governments when we think they are not spending taxpayers money wisely and are not acting in the best interests of all Canadians.

This blog will continue along and we welcome your comments and thoughts with respect to political issues that are important to our members and all Canadians. We will give you frequent updates as to what is going on and will continue to be a watchdog on all political parties. When we see something that we think needs to be discussed we will do so and we will also be quick to praise governments of all persuasions when we see that they handle issues well.

Hi:

I really admired Gerry and his honesty and integrity. I have to be honest; this makes me very nervous. We need a strong independant voice to fight for the citizens against the excesses of big government. With the conservatives so obviously now leading that charge with the Liberals and the NDP and even the Greens following now we need that independant voice even more.

I’m questioning now if I should have recently joined the NCC.

The recent treatment of Gerry Nichols is a disgrace. To publically humiliate a fine man like him who has been the face of NCC , and done so much to advance the cause of NCC is totally lacking in hunan decency and good judgement. I hope he gets a good lawyer. He deserves the best.

The most cogent explanation of who you are or were with gerry Nichols was in the Toronto Star this morning where he writes about the failed dream of us Conservatives as we see Mr. Harper’s lack of action on our issues.
Too bad that wasn’t done in previous months and years. Your exposure level needs a bit of a kick start/

Kudos need to go out to Gerry for successfully doping many of you.

If Gerry genuinely cared for anyone other than himself do you think he would be trying to so hard to tarnish the NCC? This is the very organization that holds the values he claims to have! Come on people!
Gerry has made it transparently obvious since leaving the NCC that he is out for one person – himself. Take a second to think about his actions since last Wednesday and you will see that his true colours are all too clearly shining through.

Good riddance Gerry and thanks for making it blatantly clear to the members that the right choice was made.

Bob Collins says:

May Gerry Nicholl have much success in his future endeavors we wish him luck.
Now on to other matters - I recently had to visit Scarborough Centenery hospital in an evening due to a bout of Vertigo. There apparently was one doctor and one nurse on duty, so my visit lasted 5 hours.
So, what is the problem with our health system? We need more facilities and more doctors and more nurses and more technisians and —.
We don’t have more doctors/nurses/technicians etc. available? Then start training more.
Not enough qualified entrants for training? Then subsidize training as much as necessary.
Of course this will bankrupt the whole system, so the governments should tell us that and either admit that no improvement is possible, or come up with a different system- - - use your imagination.
We live in hope!

Alli says:

The recent and unjust firing of Gerry Nicholls states that there is a real power struggle within the NCC. Whoever encouraged Mssrs. Brown & Coleman to fire Gerry is the prime candidate for the office of President when Coleman leaves for greener pastures or forces out Mr Brown. The new media relations person will have their hands full in covering up this firing and filling Gerry’s shoes.
